Kroger to Appoint Greg Foran, Former Walmart CEO, as New CEO (KROG)

Kroger Co. (KROG) is expected to任命 Greg Foran as its next chief executive, according to a source familiar with the matter, as the nation’s largest grocer seeks a new direction following the collapse of its $24.6 billion Albertsons merger and the resignation of former CEO Rodney McMullen after a personal conduct probe. The appointment is anticipated early Monday, with Foran set to be Kroger’s first external CEO. He most recently led Walmart’s U.S. operations and Air New Zealand. The move follows interim leadership by Ron Sargent since March, as Kroger expands stores, closes underperforming locations, and refines its strategy after the antitrust block of its mega-deal. Kroger shares rose as much as 4.4% in premarket trading on February 9, 2026.
