Eli Lilly (LLY): Retevmo Cuts Recurrence Risk 83% in Early-Stage Lung Cancer Trial
Eli Lilly & Co. reported on May 31, 2026, that its drug Retevmo reduced the risk of disease recurrence by 83% in patients with early-stage non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) driven by RET gene fusions. The data came from the Phase 3 LIBRETTO-432 trial. The study enrolled patients who had undergone surgery and chemotherapy, randomizing them to Retevmo or placebo. The 83% reduction in risk of recurrence or death represents a statistically significant improvement in disease-free survival, the trial’s primary endpoint. Lilly plans to submit the results to global health authorities. Retevmo is already approved for advanced RET-altered thyroid and lung cancers. The positive adjuvant data could expand use into earlier lines of treatment.
