Eli Lilly and Co. (LLY) said Wednesday that its investigational EloraTZP combination of eloralintide and tirzepatide produced substantial weight loss and blood sugar reductions in a Phase 2b trial of 367 adults with obesity or overweight and type 2 diabetes. At 48 weeks, patients on the highest dose (eloralintide 9 mg plus tirzepatide 15 mg) lost an average 54.1 pounds, or 23.3% of body weight, with A1C down 2.9 percentage points. Tirzepatide 15 mg alone yielded 34.4 pounds (14.8%) lost and a 2.4-point A1C decline. Gastrointestinal side effects were the most common adverse events and were generally mild or moderate. Lilly plans to start Phase 3 studies of an EloraTZP co-formulation by the end of 2026. LLY traded at $1,186.22 on the New York Stock Exchange, up $1.59, or 0.13%.
