Eli Lilly Says Foundayo Tops Oral Semaglutide in Type 2 Diabetes Analysis

Eli Lilly (LLY) said on September 29, 2026, that Foundayo 17.2 mg produced greater weight loss and A1C reductions than oral semaglutide 25 mg in an indirect treatment comparison among adults with type 2 diabetes. The comparison drew on data from Lilly's ACHIEVE clinical program and studies of oral semaglutide. Foundayo (orforglipron) is an FDA-approved oral GLP-1 therapy for obesity and weight management and is under study as a type 2 diabetes treatment. Lilly closed at $1,184.78 on September 28, up 0.11%.
