Hong Kong private home prices were largely flat in August, edging up 0.06% after a revised 0.8% monthly decline in July, according to Rating and Valuation Department data released Monday. July's drop was the first in 16 months, snapping a rally that had lifted prices roughly 13% since March 2025. Market momentum had weakened amid a stock market correction and China's tighter curbs on outbound investment. Prices have climbed 7% in the first seven months of 2026. The market remains supported by firm demand from mainland Chinese professionals, buoyant equities and easing oversupply. Residential prices rebounded last year after falling nearly 30% from their 2021 peak.
