Malaysia's stock exchange, Bursa Malaysia, is projected to receive additional support on June 19, 2026, driven by anticipated local institutional buying, especially from government-linked investment companies (GLICs). This expectation follows the FBM KLCI, Malaysia's benchmark index, concluding June 18, 2026, down 2.87 points, or 0.18%, at 1,600.67 points. Trading volume on June 18, 2026, reached 4.41 billion units valued at RM3.27 billion. The expected local support comes amidst a mixed overnight performance on Wall Street, where the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.77% and the S&P 500 gained 0.25%, while the Nasdaq Composite fell 0.79%. Crude oil prices also saw declines, with Brent crude down 0.5% to US$84.50 per barrel and WTI crude falling 0.6% to US$80.80 per barrel. Gold prices, however, increased 0.8% to US$2,347.50 an ounce.
