Mobileye Global (MBLY-US) announced on June 18, 2026, it will launch its own Robotaxi service in the U.S. by 2027. The service is set to begin with approximately 100 vehicles and aims to expand to about 17,000 vehicles within five years. Following the announcement, Mobileye's stock price rose over 2%. The Jerusalem-based autonomous driving technology supplier is extending its business from a technology provider to an end-service operator, directly competing with companies like Alphabet's (GOOGL-US) Waymo, Amazon's (AMZN-US) Zoox, and Tesla (TSLA-US). The new service will integrate Mobileye's Drive autonomous platform with Moovit's traffic data and routing capabilities. Mobileye will operate the vehicles but partner with vehicle platform and fleet integration partners for manufacturing. The company stated this initiative will run parallel to its existing technology licensing and component supply businesses, without impacting commitments to current clients.
