Meta Plans AI Pendant, 'Wearables for Work' to Stem Hardware Losses, Report Says

Meta Platforms Inc. (META) is developing an AI pendant and expanding its smart glasses lineup, including a business-focused service called “Wearables for Work,” as it seeks to reverse deep losses in its hardware division, The Information reported May 29, 2026, citing an internal memo. Testing of the AI pendant is planned to begin sometime in 2027, the report said. The initiative represents a renewed push into wearables after years of massive spending at Reality Labs, which has accumulated billions in operating losses.
