Meta Names Tucker Bounds Head of Communications as David Ginsberg Moves to AI Product Role
Meta promoted Tucker Bounds to head of communications and public affairs on Sept. 28, 2026, replacing longtime executive David Ginsberg, who shifts to a new AI-focused product role, according to an internal memo obtained by Axios. Bounds, most recently communications chief for CEO Mark Zuckerberg, will oversee global corporate, product, internal and CEO communications, public affairs and Meta's content studio. Ginsberg becomes vice president of product, insights innovation, reporting alongside Chief Data Officer Alex Schultz, focusing on how AI reshapes user research and product development. Ginsberg joined in 2017 to lead Facebook's research team; Bounds held communications posts from 2010 to 2014 and rejoined in 2017. The changes come as Meta confronts regulatory pressure and heavy spending on AI and wearables. Last month, the company agreed to a settlement worth up to $16.7 billion with states over allegations its apps harm minors, and last week it debuted a personalized AI assistant, Muse.
