Marvell (MRVL) is in discussions with Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSM) to integrate TSMC's upcoming A14 advanced process into its future flagship products. Marvell President and COO Chris Koopmans recently confirmed talks, emphasizing the chip designer's commitment to cutting-edge technology. TSMC projects its A14 process, a next-generation logic node following 2nm, will enter mass production in 2028. The A14 is designed to deliver a 10% to 15% performance boost at the same power, or a 25% to 30% power reduction at the same speed, alongside over 20% higher logic density compared to its N2 predecessor. Koopmans stressed that "energy efficiency is everything" for Marvell's core products, noting "even 0.1 watt of difference is critical." Marvell has historically relied on TSMC for advanced nodes, having previously skipped the 7nm node to move directly from 16nm to 5nm.
