LinkedIn plans to announce layoffs on May 13, 2026, cutting about 5% of its workforce as the Microsoft-owned company reorganizes teams and shifts staff toward faster-growing areas, Reuters reported, citing people familiar with the matter. LinkedIn has more than 17,500 full-time employees globally, according to its website, implying roughly 875 roles could be affected. Reuters said it could not determine which teams would be cut. The move comes even as LinkedIn revenue rose 12% year over year in the most recent quarter, according to Microsoft securities filings. One source told Reuters the cuts were not driven by plans to replace jobs with artificial intelligence.
