Micron Technology (MU) shares jumped more than 4% in pre-market trading on Monday, June 1, 2026, breaching the $1,000 mark for the first time, following Nvidia’s unveiling of a new super chip for Windows-based personal computers. Nvidia announced the chip at the Computex trade show in Taipei, in partnership with Microsoft, which will provide compatible software. The AI-focused processor is designed to let users delegate tasks to the PC, with shipments expected in laptops and desktops from Asus, Dell, HP, and Lenovo this fall. Analysts said Micron, a key memory supplier for AI systems, stands to benefit from the expansion of high-bandwidth memory demand as AI functions move into consumer devices. Micron’s stock had already gained over 5% on Friday, May 29.
