National Bank of Canada (TSX: NA) reported on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, that second-quarter net income rose to C$920 million, or C$2.26 per share, up from C$826 million, or C$2.01 per share, a year earlier, driven by strong performance in capital markets and wealth management. Revenue for the three months ended April 30 grew 8% to C$2.8 billion. The bank cited higher trading fees and advisory income, along with increased assets under management that lifted fee-based revenue. Provisions for credit losses remained stable at C$105 million, reflecting steady loan quality. The Montreal-based lender’s return on equity improved to 17.5% from 16.2% a year ago.
