ADNOC expands India energy ties with crude storage and LPG supply deals
ADNOC signed strategic agreements with Indian energy partners to expand cooperation on crude oil, LNG and LPG storage and deepen LPG supply ties, strengthening the UAE-India energy corridor amid rising Indian demand. The first agreement, with Indian Strategic Petroleum Reserves Ltd., covers potential cooperation across crude oil, LNG and LPG storage and strategic reserves. ADNOC said the deal could raise its crude storage in India to as much as 30 million barrels, including existing capacity at Mangalore and potential new storage at Vishakhapatnam and Chandikol. It also explores possible crude storage in Fujairah for India’s strategic reserve. A second agreement with Indian Oil Corp. will explore expanded LPG supply and trading opportunities, including through ADNOC Global Trading. The deal builds on an LPG term contract in place since 2023 and could support a long-term LPG sale and purchase agreement. The agreements were announced May 15, 2026, in the presence of UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
