AI Compliance Startup ZeroDrift Raises $10 Million to Correct Model Errors

ZeroDrift, a provider of AI governance software, announced a $10 million seed funding round on June 2, 2026, backed by a16z Speedrun, Reign Ventures, PitchDrive Ventures, and U&I Ventures. The company sits between AI models and end users, flagging and rewriting messages that violate compliance standards like SOC 2 or GDPR before they are delivered. The system uses deterministic programs to identify regulatory violations, then employs large language models (LLMs) to generate compliant rewrites. CEO Kumesh Aroomoogan said the architecture offers lower latency and greater reliability than relying only on LLMs from labs like OpenAI or Anthropic. The round was oversubscribed by 3x, closing within three weeks. While initial demand comes from consumer-facing AI chatbots, Aroomoogan expects the market to extend to automated system-to-system communications as AI deployment grows.
