Airtel Money Plans £6bn London IPO, Biggest LSE Listing Since 2021

Airtel Money, the African payments unit of FTSE 100 operator Airtel Africa, announced plans on September 23, 2026, to float on the London Stock Exchange's main market later this year, targeting a valuation of approximately $8bn and raising about $800m. At least 10pc of shares are expected to be floated in October, led by Citigroup, with Barclays, Merrill Lynch, Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan among the underwriters. Airtel Africa holds a 77.9pc stake and expects to remain a long-term shareholder. Airtel Money operates in 13 African countries, serves roughly 53 million monthly users and reported $1.4bn in revenues last year, with underlying earnings before interest and other charges of $676m. The listing would be the City's largest since Wise went public in 2021, offering relief to an exchange that has suffered a dearth of new listings and recent departures by Flutter, Indivior and CRH to New York.
