Anthropic launches Claude for Small Business, intensifying AI software push ahead of potential IPO

Anthropic (ANTH.PVT) launched Claude for Small Business on May 13, 2026, expanding its enterprise software strategy as AI vendors pressure traditional software companies. The product lets users add Claude AI to apps including Intuit’s QuickBooks (INTU), DocuSign (DOCU), PayPal (PYPL), Microsoft 365 (MSFT) and Google Workspace (GOOG, GOOGL). The company said the service can handle tasks across payroll, bookkeeping reconciliation, business insights and trend analysis. The launch follows Anthropic’s enhanced legal software product on May 12, 2026, and Claude for Financial Services the prior week. Anthropic said its 2026 revenue run rate has topped $30 billion, up from $9 billion in 2025, and that customers spending at least $1 million annually doubled to more than 1,000 from 500 in two months. The company is preparing for a potential IPO in 2026, while rival OpenAI is also weighing a public listing. Software stocks including Salesforce (CRM), ServiceNow (NOW), Intuit, DocuSign and Box (BOX) have declined amid investor concerns AI tools could erode SaaS demand.
