Anthropic Valued at $965B After $65B Series H, Surpasses OpenAI
Anthropic said on May 28, 2026, it raised $65 billion in a Series H funding round, lifting the AI startup’s valuation to $965 billion and making it the most valuable artificial intelligence startup, ahead of OpenAI’s $852 billion. The round was led by Altimeter Capital, Dragoneer, Greenoaks and Sequoia Capital, and included a $5 billion investment from Amazon as part of a $15 billion hyperscaler commitment. Anthropic’s annualized revenue surged to $47 billion, up from $30 billion earlier this year and roughly $10 billion in 2025, driven by enterprise adoption of its Claude Code assistant. Anthropic also unveiled its latest model, Claude Opus 4.8, and a security-focused version, Claude Mythos Preview. The company said the funding will support AI safety research, expand computing infrastructure, and deepen ties with memory partners Micron, Samsung and SK Hynix.
