AtkinsRéalis JV With Aecon Wins $1.7 Billion Pickering Nuclear Unit 5 Refurbishment Contract

Candu Energy Inc., an AtkinsRéalis (ATRL.TO) subsidiary, said Monday it signed a $1.7 billion contract in joint venture with Aecon Group Inc. to refurbish Unit 5 of Ontario Power Generation's Pickering Nuclear Generating Station. The award covers reactor refurbishment work at the Pickering site as Ontario Power Generation advances its multi-unit life-extension program. The contract was announced on September 21, 2026.
