CarGurus (CARG), Crescent Energy (CRGY) Touted as Value Buys; CDW (CDW) Avoided

StockStory, a research platform founded to identify genuine bargains, flagged CarGurus (NASDAQ:CARG) and Crescent Energy (NYSE:CRGY) as value stocks with solid fundamentals on May 29, 2026, while urging investors to ignore CDW (NASDAQ:CDW). CarGurus, a digital auto marketplace, traded at $29.85 per share, implying a forward EV/EBITDA of 8.4x. Crescent Energy, an oil and gas producer with over 1.4 million net acres across Texas and the Rocky Mountains, commanded a forward price-to-earnings ratio of just 4.5x at $11.88 per share. Both were described as trading at large discounts to intrinsic value. In contrast, CDW, a provider of IT solutions to businesses and public entities since 1984, was singled out as a potential value trap. Its shares changed hands at $116.86, or 10.5x forward earnings. The analysis cautioned that many cheap-looking stocks face structural issues and fail to re-rate.
