Commercial Building Products Q1 2026 Earnings Mixed; AZZ Leads Revenue Growth, Insteel Lags

The commercial building products sector reported mixed Q1 2026 results, with revenues collectively surpassing analyst consensus by 0.9% yet share prices falling an average 4.3% since the reports, as investors navigated cyclical headwinds and raw material cost concerns. AZZ (NYSE:AZZ) posted the fastest revenue growth, a 9.4% year-over-year increase to $385.1 million, but the stock slipped 1.9% as high expectations outweighed the beat. Apogee (NASDAQ:APOG) delivered the largest earnings surprise, sending shares up 8.1% on a solid revenue beat at $351.4 million. Insteel (NYSE:IIIN) suffered the weakest performance, missing revenue and operating income estimates and tumbling 24.9%. Johnson Controls (NYSE:JCI) rose 8.2% in revenue to $6.14 billion and raised guidance, but the stock fell 6%. Janus (NYSE:JBI) edged estimates and lifted its full-year outlook, gaining 3.4%.
