Coupa launches AI tools, buys Rossum to expand supply-chain automation

Coupa launched AI-focused products and announced the acquisition of Rossum, an AI-based intelligent document processing company, at Coupa Inspire 2026 in Las Vegas, signaling a deeper push into autonomous procurement and supply-chain workflows. At the May 12, 2026, keynote, CEO Leagh Turner unveiled Coupa Compose and Coupa Catalyst. Coupa executives said the company has built more than 20 AI agents and plans to expand that number over the next year. Dean Bain, Coupa’s general manager and senior vice president of supply chain, said AI-enabled “prescriptions” can cut supply-chain analysis from four to six weeks to four to six hours. Customer examples included Sonepar USA, which said one optimization project reduced 26-foot box trucks to 43 from 68 and generated about $3.4 million in lease-cost savings. Coupa also said on May 13, 2026, it is partnering with Celonis to integrate process intelligence into its autonomous spend-management platform.
