Diageo CEO Dave Lewis taps WPP CFO Joanne Wilson for finance chief in 2027 turnaround push
Diageo has named Joanne Wilson, currently CFO of WPP, as its next chief financial officer, part of CEO Sir Dave Lewis's effort to accelerate a turnaround at the Guinness maker. She joins in 2027, replacing Nik Jhangiani. Wilson worked with Lewis at Tesco, where he was CEO from 2014 to 2020; she also held senior finance roles at Tesco's data unit dunnhumby. Lewis, nicknamed "Drastic Dave," is targeting $1 billion in savings to overhaul brands including Captain Morgan and Smirnoff. Diageo cut 2,000 jobs over the past 12 months. Revenue fell 3% to $19.6 billion and operating profit dropped 27% to $3.2 billion. The company will double Guinness production after sales of the stout rose 12% in the year to June. Diageo shares trade on the FTSE 100.
