FTSE Russell Says SpaceX Meets Fast-Entry Criteria Ahead of IPO
SpaceX has qualified for fast-track inclusion into FTSE Russell’s major U.S. and global equity indexes under revised eligibility rules, the index provider said on May 27, clearing the path for its shares to enter benchmarks immediately after listing. The Elon Musk-led company's estimated $70 billion investable market cap exceeds the $17.5 billion threshold for the Russell Top 500 and the $13.5 billion floor for the FTSE Global Equity Index Series. SpaceX’s highly anticipated initial public offering could begin trading as soon as June 12, 2026, with a roadshow starting June 4 and stock sales potentially launching June 11. The company is targeting a valuation up to $1.75 trillion, which would also qualify it for the Russell Top 50, Russell 1000, and multiple FTSE all-world indexes. FTSE Russell noted the assessment relies on SpaceX’s current S-1 filing and limited public data, leaving room for adjustments.
