Judge Dismisses Several Counts Against Super Ego's Mimic; Settlement Talks Advance

A federal judge dismissed several counts against Super Ego's Aleksandar Mimic in a lawsuit filed by drivers, while settlement talks in the case reported "significant progress," according to a court filing. Judge Martha Pacold of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois dismissed four counts against Mimic without prejudice on Sept. 14, 2026, meaning they can be refiled in amended form. Count II, alleging violation of the federal Truth in Leasing Act, was dismissed with prejudice to the extent it relies on an aiding and abetting theory, barring refiling. The suit, initially filed in 2022 with an amended complaint in 2025, remains active against Super Ego Holding LLC and other affiliated carriers including Floyd Inc., Kordun Express Inc. and Rocket Expediting LLC. Plaintiffs allege the defendants operated a "chameleon carrier" network using lease-purchase programs to induce drivers into unfavorable contracts.
