Kalshi Hires Ex-FBI Analyst Tyler Neff to Strengthen Surveillance as Prediction Market Faces Insider Trading Scrutiny
Kalshi hired former FBI analyst Tyler Neff in May 2026 to lead surveillance efforts on its exchange, as prediction markets face mounting pressure from lawmakers to crack down on insider trading. Neff reports to Kalshi's head of enforcement and legal counsel, Robert DeNault, and is responsible for all surveillance operations. Neff served seven years as an intel analyst on the FBI's white-collar crime squad in New York before working at the New York Stock Exchange, Wedbush Securities, and Canaccord Genuity. His appointment is part of a broader hiring push this year that has also brought in surveillance executives from Morgan Stanley and Nasdaq. Kalshi has investigated over 400 suspicious trades so far in 2026, more than double the total for all of 2025. The intensified safeguards follow the U.S. Justice Department's charge earlier this week against a Google software engineer for allegedly using insider information to manipulate bets on rival platform Polymarket.
