Musk, Huang, Cook to Dine With Xi as U.S. CEOs Seek China Concessions

Tesla CEO Elon Musk, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, Apple Executive Chairman Tim Cook and Citigroup CEO Jane Fraser are among business leaders slated to attend a White House state dinner for Chinese President Xi Jinping on Thursday, September 24, 2026, as the two governments weigh trade, rare earths and artificial intelligence. For Tesla, China generated $20.96 billion in 2025 revenue, about 22% of global sales, but its share of China's battery-electric market fell to 6.6% in the second quarter from over 15% in 2020. Nvidia took a $4.5 billion charge last year on H20 processors after U.S. export controls; H200 sales to China accounted for under 1% of recent data-center revenue. Apple booked $64.4 billion in Greater China sales in fiscal 2025, roughly 15% of global revenue, while Citigroup awaits Beijing's approval for a wholly owned securities unit applied for in 2021, which could roughly double its staff to about 100.
