OCI Global H1 Profit Falls to $1M on Impairment; Orascom Merger Set for Q4
OCI Global (OCI.AS) reported first-half fiscal 2026 net profit attributable to shareholders of $1 million, down from $343.1 million a year earlier, as earnings per share fell to $0.004 from $1.626. The decline reflects a $215 million impairment charge at OCI Nitrogen that largely offset a $238 million gain on the disposal of OCI Ammonia Holding. OCI Nitrogen posted a net loss of $175 million versus $12 million a year ago, with revenue of $534 million, down from $566 million. The unit is classified as held for sale following an agreement with AGROFERT a.s., and the group's results are now presented entirely within discontinued operations under IFRS 5. OCI said its proposed combination with Orascom Construction, announced December 9, 2025, remains on track to close in the fourth quarter, subject to shareholder approval and transaction conditions. Shares closed September 28 at 4.0700 euros, down 0.39 percent.
