Blue Origin's First Outside Funding Round Oversubscribed, CEO Limp Says

Blue Origin's first-ever external capital raise is oversubscribed, CEO Dave Limp said Tuesday, as investors show broad appetite for commercial space ventures. The round remains open, and Limp did not confirm its size or founder Jeff Bezos' contribution. The Wall Street Journal reported last week that Blue Origin raised $10 billion at a $140 billion valuation, with Coatue Management committing roughly $4 billion to lead at a $130 billion pre-money valuation. Bezos, the company's sole backer since founding it in 2000, contributed $2 billion to the current raise and has invested $30 billion total, CNBC reported. Limp cited New Glenn's early flight record, two new satellite constellations — TeraWave and Project Sunrise — and competition for engineering talent as reasons for seeking outside capital. He said New Glenn, after a failed mission and a May pad explosion, should fly again before year-end.
