Dyson Pays Record £750M Dividend Despite Profit Drop from US Tariffs
Dyson's Singapore-based parent company Weybourne Holdings paid £750 million in dividends in 2025, up from £200 million the prior year, even as US tariffs and weak consumer confidence eroded earnings. The payout is the largest since 2022's £1.2 billion. Sales fell to £6.13 billion from £6.57 billion, with tariffs costing £440 million. Pre-tax profit declined to £511 million from £561 million, though EBITDA rose 18% and operating profit grew 15%. The company cut hundreds of jobs in 2025, including roughly one-third of its UK workforce. Founder Sir James Dyson, Britain's 13th-richest person with a £12 billion net worth, owns Weybourne, which holds 100% of Dyson. The company has faced production issues with its £420 CameraJet toothbrush but says they are resolved.
