Dallas Grants Hoque, Ablon 10-Month Extension to Buy Bank of America Plaza
Developers Mike Hoque and Mike Ablon received a 10-month extension from Dallas officials to complete their purchase of the 72-story Bank of America Plaza at 901 Main Street, pushing the deadline from September 30, 2026 to July 30, 2027, the Dallas Morning News reported on September 29, 2026. The extension preserves more than $100 million in incentives approved by the Dallas City Council for the $409 million redevelopment of the city's tallest tower. Hoque and Ablon plan to buy the building from Chicago-based Metropolis Investment Holdings, which manages assets for a German family investment group, and intend to include four downtown city blocks in the transaction. A Dallas assistant city manager cited the complexity of the deal for the delay. Revised plans reduce office space to 1.5 million square feet from 1.8 million, add 275 four-star hotel rooms, a 1,000-space parking garage, and a glass-and-steel structure linked by a skybridge. Completion is projected for fall 2032.
