Zealand Pharma's Petrelintide Shows 10.7% Weight Loss, Cardiometabolic Gains in Phase 2 Data; ZEAL.CO Up 1.45%
Zealand Pharma A/S (ZEAL.CO) on September 30, 2026 announced publication of new Phase 2 ZUPREME-1 data in The Lancet Diabetes and Endocrinology, showing petrelintide produced a mean weight reduction of 10.7% versus 1.7% on placebo over five weekly doses. The trial enrolled 493 patients. Waist circumference fell 10.8 cm versus 4.3 cm on placebo. High-sensitivity C-reactive protein dropped up to 41% versus 6%, and triglycerides fell 21% versus 9%. Pulse rate decreased up to 2.9 bpm versus a 0.3 bpm increase on placebo. Gastrointestinal adverse effects were mild, with none severe at the maximum dose. Petrelintide, a long-acting amylin analog co-developed with Roche under a 2025 agreement, is in three Phase 3 registrational trials for weight loss. Results will be presented at the EASD conference on September 30, 2026. ZEAL.CO traded at DKK 272.40, up 1.45%.
