Quintin Primo in Talks to Join Stalled Michael Reese Site Development Team

Capri Investment Group founder Quintin Primo is in discussions to join the GRIT development team behind Chicago's long-delayed former Michael Reese Hospital project, Crain's reported. GRIT secured zoning approval and a $60 million infrastructure agreement with the City of Chicago in 2021 to redevelop the 49-acre site, originally pitched as a $3.8 billion mixed-use campus anchored by the ARC Innovation Center. Chicago granted a fourth extension of the infrastructure agreement last week but warned it would be voided if the team continues to stall. Primo's potential addition could dilute the interest of Loop Capital founder Jim Reynolds, who previously sought to bring One Central's Bob Dunn into the team without success. GRIT is a joint venture among Farpoint Development, McLaurin Development Partners, Loop Capital, Chicago Neighborhood Initiatives, and the Bronzeville Community Development Partnership. The team faces a Dec. 14, 2026 deadline to formulate a new infrastructure plan with City Hall.
