Saudi EV Startup Ceer Unveils Exobot Models, Targets Early 2027 Sales

Saudi startup Ceer unveiled its first two fully electric vehicles on September 21, 2026, and said it will launch five more models by 2030 as part of Saudi Arabia's effort to build a domestic auto industry and reduce oil dependence. The Exobot premium electric sedan and SUV will begin sales in Saudi Arabia in early 2027, featuring gullwing doors and pillarless designs. Ceer is a joint venture between Saudi sovereign wealth fund Public Investment Fund and Taiwan's Foxconn, with engineering support from BMW. Ceer CEO Jim DeLuca said the company will add plug-in hybrids and combustion-engine models to its lineup in response to shifting demand. Five mainstream models are planned between 2028 and 2030, with expansion into Middle East and North Africa markets by 2028 and broader growth through 2034.
