Trump Bought Up to $50K in SpaceX Stock in July, Then Trimmed Stake
President Donald Trump purchased between $15,001 and $50,000 of SpaceX stock on July 10, 2026, then sold $1,001 to $15,000 of the shares on July 17, according to a financial disclosure signed Sept. 8 and released by the Office of Government Ethics. The transactions were among more than 1,000 trades Trump made in July. SpaceX shares fell 15% during the July 10-17 holding period. The trades deepen Trump's financial ties to the Elon Musk-led rocket company, a U.S. military contractor that regularly requires federal agency approvals, at a time when the government is preparing decisions that could affect SpaceX's business outlook. SpaceX priced at a $177 trillion valuation on June 12, the largest IPO in U.S. history. The White House has said third-party institutions independently manage the president's portfolio, mirroring recognized indexes such as the Schwab 1000.
