WWEX Group, Auctane merge to form ShipStation Global logistics platform

Dallas-based WWEX Group and shipping software provider Auctane completed their merger on June 1, 2026, creating ShipStation Global, an AI-enabled logistics platform targeting small and midsize businesses. The combined company is backed by private equity firm Thoma Bravo, with CVC Funds and other WWEX investors holding minority stakes. ShipStation Global will serve more than 3 million customers and handle over 3 billion shipments annually, combining WWEX’s freight brokerage network with Auctane’s technology suite, including ShipStation, Stamps.com, Metapack, and Packlink. CEO Tom Madine said the combination eliminates the need for businesses to stitch together multiple tools, offering a single interface for parcel, LTL, truckload, and international shipping. The launch comes amid accelerating logistics M&A as companies pursue AI and end-to-end capabilities. Recent deals include Echo Global Logistics’ January agreement to acquire ITS Logistics, creating a $5.4 billion revenue business, and project44’s April purchase of LunaPath.ai to add over 50 logistics-focused AI agents.
