Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia (NVDA), said on Thursday (June 5) that three major memory chip manufacturers have been certified to supply the most advanced High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) chips for its AI accelerators. Huang made the announcement upon arrival in Seoul for a visit, as reported on June 6. The certifications are critical to Nvidia’s supply chain for next-generation AI chips, which rely on HBM for high-speed data processing. Huang did not name the suppliers, but South Korea’s SK Hynix and Samsung Electronics are leading producers of HBM. During his trip, Huang met with business leaders including SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won and LG Group Chairman Koo Kwang-mo at a dinner in Seoul, highlighting Nvidia's deepening ties with Korean tech conglomerates.
