Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang Says Taiwan Is 'Epicentre' of AI Revolution, Plans New HQ by 2030
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang on May 27, 2026, called Taiwan the “epicentre” of the artificial intelligence revolution, predicting the island will remain the world’s technology manufacturing hub for the foreseeable future. Huang spoke at a Taipei event marking the launch of Nvidia’s planned Taiwan headquarters, which he said will break ground this year and begin operations in 2030. The remarks underscore Nvidia’s deepening commitment to Taiwan despite escalating geopolitical tensions. The new facility will bolster the chip designer’s presence near key supplier TSMC (2330.TW), which manufactures Nvidia’s advanced AI processors. Huang did not disclose the investment amount for the project. Nvidia shares (NVDA) have surged over 2,000% in five years, driven by insatiable demand for AI computing. Taiwan accounts for more than 90% of the world’s most advanced semiconductor production, making it a critical node in the global AI supply chain.
