Nvidia (NVDA) partners with U.K. AI startup Ineffable Intelligence on reinforcement learning systems
Nvidia (NVDA) said on May 13, 2026, it will form a deep engineering partnership with U.K. startup Ineffable Intelligence to build AI systems that learn through trial and error, expanding its focus beyond large language models into reinforcement learning and autonomous knowledge discovery. London-based Ineffable was founded in late 2025 by David Silver, a University College London professor and former head of reinforcement learning at Google DeepMind. The company raised $1.1 billion in seed funding in April 2026 from investors including Sequoia, Lightspeed, Alphabet’s Google (GOOGL), DST Global, Index Ventures, Nvidia and a U.K. sovereign AI fund. Nvidia and Ineffable will jointly develop large-scale computing pipelines for reinforcement learning training data, using Nvidia’s Grace Blackwell chips and next-generation Vera Rubin platform. The deal comes as investor interest shifts toward AI labs founded by former researchers from DeepMind, OpenAI, Anthropic, Meta and xAI, with rival startups also raising hundreds of millions of dollars in 2026.
