Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said on June 2 that he aims to pay employees the highest possible wages, underscoring the intensifying war for top semiconductor talent in the AI era. He also dismissed concerns that artificial intelligence will eliminate jobs, labeling such fears “complete nonsense.” Huang’s comments followed questions about a recent wage agreement at partner Samsung Electronics. The AI chip leader faces mounting pressure to share more of its windfall profits with workers. Rival chipmaker and partner TSMC is managing similar tensions, with President C.C. Wei pledging larger incentive increases this year. TSMC’s annual shareholder meeting on June 4 is expected to address compensation issues. Huang argued AI will boost productivity, lift corporate revenue and profit, drive GDP growth, and create new categories of employment. The remarks highlight Nvidia’s focus on retaining critical engineering talent as the global AI buildout accelerates.
