Nvidia (NVDA) CEO Jensen Huang said the company’s annual spending in Taiwan will climb to as much as $150 billion, a roughly tenfold jump from four to five years ago, underscoring the island’s central role in AI supply chains. Huang disclosed the figure at an employee meeting in Taipei on May 27, 2026. Nvidia’s Taiwan outlays have already risen to about $100 billion per year from $10 billion to $15 billion previously, Huang said, adding the chipmaker is “tracking toward” the $150 billion target. He described Taiwan as the hub of the AI revolution, where chips, packaging, system manufacturing and AI supercomputers are built. The spending surge will amplify the local ecosystem, Huang noted, pointing to soaring partner stock prices. He also flagged Taiwan’s growing energy needs, warning that “AI labor requires electricity,” a constraint for GDP growth as the AI supply chain expands.
