NVIDIA (NVDA) Unveils Halos Robotics Safety System, Agility Robotics Adopts

NVIDIA (NVDA) launched Halos for Robotics, an industry-first full-stack physical AI safety system, at the Automate 2026 exhibition in Chicago on Monday, June 22, 2026. Positioned as an open-source "Android for robots," Halos aims to standardize safety across the burgeoning embodied AI sector, leveraging NVIDIA's expertise to define secure robot development rather than building robots itself. Humanoid robot maker Agility Robotics is the first partner to integrate the system. Halos leverages NVIDIA’s extensive autonomous driving safety experience, including 18,600 engineering years and 7 million lines of safety-verified code. The system features a four-layer architecture, from industrial-grade AI computing modules like IGX Thor with a "Safety Island" for emergency stops, to an open-source Halos OS, algorithm safety, and an ANSI/ANAB-accredited ecosystem safety lab. Agility Robotics has embedded IGX Thor and Halos Core into its Digit robots, which currently perform logistics tasks for clients including Amazon, GXO, and Toyota Canada Manufacturing. The Halos ecosystem has expanded to over 43 partners, including Boston Dynamics, Hesai Technology, FORT Robotics, and chipmakers like Infineon and NXP.
