Novo Nordisk (NVO) Faces Alleged Data Theft After Cyber Group Claims Breach
Novo Nordisk (NVO) is confronting claims of a massive data breach after the cyber extortion group ALPHV/BlackCat alleged it stole 3 terabytes of data. The group made the claim on June 17, 2026, on its dark web leak site. Novo Nordisk has not yet confirmed the breach, which could present significant operational, financial, and reputational risks for the pharmaceutical giant. ALPHV/BlackCat, also known as BlackCat or Noberus, is a notorious ransomware group previously identified by the FBI. The group's post threatens to release the data if a ransom is not paid. As a leading manufacturer of drugs like Ozempic and Wegovy, any compromise of sensitive patient data, intellectual property, or research could trigger regulatory investigations and impact investor trust.
