Europe Faces Jet Fuel Shortfall of 510,000 Bpd as Diesel Crunch Widens

Europe faces a jet fuel supply deficit of up to 510,000 barrels per day next quarter, consultancy Energy Aspects said, extending an energy crunch that has already driven diesel and gasoline prices to record highs across the European Union. Jet fuel inventories at the Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp hub fell to 454,000 tons in the week to September 10, the lowest in seven years, Reuters reported. South Korea has become Europe's largest supplier, shipping 129,000 bpd. Energy Aspects sees a U.S. surplus of 18,000 bpd and an Asia-Pacific surplus of 419,000 bpd. The squeeze follows Saudi Arabia's cancellation of October crude cargoes bound for European refiners after Houthi attacks on energy infrastructure. Eurozone energy inflation reached 14.3% in August, with EU gasoline prices up 29% and diesel up 40% since the start of 2026. The ECB expects diesel margins to peak in October.
