Pearson Agrees to Acquire AI Assessment Platform Workera
Pearson plc (NYSE: PSO; LSE: PSON.L) said Tuesday it agreed to acquire Workera, a Palo Alto, California-based AI assessment and skills verification platform. Financial terms were not disclosed. The deal is expected to close in the second half of 2026, subject to customary conditions. Workera, which employs about 60 people, serves enterprise and government customers including ServiceNow, Accenture and the United States Space Force. Upon completion, it will join Pearson's Enterprise Learning & Skills division, and co-founder and CEO Kian Katanforoosh will join Pearson's leadership team. Pearson shares traded at 1,205.0 pence on the London Stock Exchange, up 2.50 pence, or 0.21 percent. On the NYSE, the stock closed Monday's session at $15.94, down 1.18 percent.
