Peloton Unveils $2,195 Tread Flex, Its Cheapest Treadmill, in Bid to Spur Turnaround

Peloton (PTON) announced on September 22, 2026, that it will release the Tread Flex, its cheapest treadmill at $2,195, roughly $1,000 below its current lineup and its first foldable device, designed to attract apartment dwellers and smaller-home buyers. The equipment goes on sale October 1 in North America ahead of the holiday season, part of a broader treadmill revamp including the $3,495 Tread Vision and $6,695 Tread+ Vision. CEO Peter Stern is betting on walking and running to revive the beleaguered company. Peloton's stock has fallen 42% since its last product launch in October 2025, and the company conducted another round of layoffs early this year. The North American at-home treadmill market is forecast to grow 40% to $5.6 billion by 2030, outpacing stationary bikes. Peloton also expanded integration with Whoop, building on partnerships with Garmin, Apple Health and Fitbit.
