Genentech, a member of the Roche Group (RHHBY), announced a $750 million expansion of its Hillsboro, Oregon manufacturing facility to increase U.S. capacity for advanced drug delivery devices. Commercial operations are scheduled to begin in 2031. The project adds 211,000 square feet, doubling the site's size, and introduces device fill-finish capabilities, including combination products, with flexible high- and low-volume filling to support oncology, neurology and immunology medicines. The expansion is expected to create approximately 250 high-wage manufacturing jobs, with construction supporting about 200 more. The facility will integrate AI, automation, robotics and a digital twin for real-time monitoring. RHHBY closed at $53.37 on Monday, down 1.98%.
