K+S to Acquire Qemetica Salt Business

K+S AG (SDF) announced on June 2, 2026, it will acquire the salt business of Poland’s Qemetica S.A., strengthening its European production and product portfolio. The acquisition encompasses Qemetica’s evaporated salt and salt tablets operations, used in food processing, water softening, and de-icing. Financial terms were not disclosed. K+S expects the transaction to close in the second half of 2026, subject to customary regulatory approvals. The deal aligns with K+S’s strategy to expand its higher-margin salt specialties business.
