Chip Giants Converge on Taiwan for Computex 2026 as AI Infrastructure Battle Heats Up
Global semiconductor leaders will gather in Taiwan for Computex 2026, running June 2-5, with artificial intelligence data center ambitions taking center stage. NVIDIA (NVDA), Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), Intel (INTC) and Qualcomm (QCOM) plan to unveil new products and strategies. NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang kicks off the event with a GTC Taipei keynote on June 1. Huang, already in Taiwan, said the company’s annual spending in the country has surged to over $150 billion, up from $10-$15 billion four years ago. He is expected to highlight the Vera Rubin AI platform and teased a mystery product during a dinner with Quanta Computer executives. AMD confirmed plans to invest more than $10 billion in Taiwan’s AI infrastructure ecosystem and will showcase its Helios server racks, a direct competitor to NVIDIA’s NVL72. Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan and Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon will also deliver keynotes, with both expected to detail their AI data center roadmaps. Consumer product updates are anticipated but have lost investor attention as the industry’s focus pivots to hyperscale computing.
