Shopify, Meta Partner to Let AI Agent Muse Complete Purchases via Shop Pay

Shopify and Meta Platforms announced a partnership allowing Meta's personal AI agent, Muse, to browse Shopify-powered stores and complete purchases on behalf of users, built on Shopify's one-tap Shop Pay checkout. Shopify closed up 7.3% at $137.92 on Monday; Meta closed up 11.43% at $741.24. Meta Chief AI Officer Alexandr Wang said the integration gives Muse users access to a wider range of merchants. Muse, released earlier this month, is available on iOS, Android, the web and WhatsApp, priced from a free tier to $20 and $100 monthly subscriptions. The deal contrasts with Amazon's move to block Muse from completing purchases on its site, citing violations of its conditions of use. Deutsche Bank analysts said the partnership signals major AI platforms are working within Shopify's commerce infrastructure, easing investor concerns about AI disruption.
